Bio
Before triathlons, Nick began his competitive journey in swimming. Following his college graduation, he was eager to seek out new challenges and to stay active. After discovering and signing up for the Boston Triathlon along with several obstacle course races, the spark that started the triathlon fire had ignited, which subsequently gave rise to several other "race-cations" and a growing obsession for the sport. Having previously spent thousands of hours staring at the bottom of the pool, Nick felt that the multifaceted challenge of swim-bike-run offered just the right change of pace (and view). Following several other races and meet-ups with friends around the world, that spark became flame, sending him racing to --and in-- beautiful places such as Hawai’i, Utah, Finland, and France.
Nick is most passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience to help others reach their full potential. His focus, first and foremost, is getting to know you - your motivations, athletic dreams, goals, challenges, and values. Nick’s coaching philosophy is built upon open communication and accountability. He believes in specificity, as every athlete requires different training stimuli at various times of the season. By tailoring training plans to align with each individual athlete's goals and lifestyle, he seeks to optimize time and resources that will yield tangible progress while still nurturing other life responsibilities. He enjoys working with dedicated athletes from all levels of their fitness journey who are determined to become the best versions of themselves and achieve their goals by working together as a team.

"After working with Coach Nick for almost a year, I can encapsulate my experience with him in four descriptive words:
Strategic: Nick excels at combining an initial assessment and goal-setting session at the start of the season with race-specific briefings. These sessions delve into the nuances of pacing, nutrition, technique, and practical tips from his extensive experience.
Personalized: He meticulously adapts the training workload to fit your life circumstances, continuously adjusting based on daily measured body responses (i.e. Sleep, Recovery, Heart Rate Variability. etc.).
Specific: Every workout has a clear purpose, allowing me to understand my progression better and prioritize key sessions, even when life gets in the way.
Human: Nick's ability to adapt to your temperament and personality makes the training process much more enjoyable. Ultimately, we choose to pursue this journey, so it's vital to have fun along the way."- Carlos Galan

"Nick's the kind of coach you want to work with. He listens to your goals and works with your life's constraints to help you meet them. His positive motivation and regular communication helped me through the tough spots in training to keep working and keep my end goal in mind. His own accomplishments are inspiring, but his depth of experience especially means he can provide useful tips, examples and explanations that help in almost every situation. I've never felt so prepared for a race or confident with a plan to conquer the course!"
